Latest Violence in Pakistan

While the media have been engrossed with Mumbai, Pakistani jets bombed Pakistan’s border region of Mohmand, killing civilians and destroying a school. Separately in Mohmand Agency, a suicide bomber attacked a military convoy. Meanwhile, a member of the parliamentary committee on national security proposed that Pakistan block oil deliveries to NATO forces in Afghanistan unless the U.S. stops drone missile attacks on Pakistani territory. Jamaat-i-Islami NWFP has announced a protest against U.S. attacks, which it claimed have killed “hundreds of innocent people” for December 18. On the other end of Pakistan, in Karachi, violence blamed on “land disputes” continued for the third day with security forces “unable to restore order” before subsiding. Meanwhile, an alleged Hindu terrorist group, Abhinav Bharat, is reported to have organized a suicide squad to launch attacks in Pakistan. Many cooks in the kitchen.
