In case it is not obvious why this article is critically important, it has to do with the broader issue of how big powers should and should not conduct foreign policy. Intervening in the internal affairs of other countries apparently is a game, and politicians apparently have lots of fun playing. Unfortunately, the irresponsibility and immaturity of those politicians gets many, many people killed.
