Israeli Victory?

The Moving Target blog makes the following argument:

Eighteen days and a thousand Palestinian deaths into its massive Gaza campaign, Israel has yet to suffer a single significant geopolitical casualty.

In fact, despite the international outcry in the press and in the
streets against its military offensive, Israel has scored a stunning
geopolitical victory in Gaza.

The article concludes by noting that the long-term implications remain unclear. Indeed. Nevertheless, the point is important. If no country is prepared to make any substantive move against this kind of barbarism, one wonders where we are headed.

What lesson will India learn about how to deal with the next Kashmiri crisis or terrorist attack on Indian soil? What lesson will Obama learn about the Central Asian war? Will Gaza provoke renewed global war fever just when rumors of change were in the air?
